Book Balm/Book Shield Combo Pack

$24.98

Due to the popularity of people buying both Book Balm and Book Shield together, I thought it would only be right if I made a listing avaialble for these together with a slight discount to all of you.

Order this and you'll get two tins, one of my Book Balm, one of my Book Shield. These work together great, and I recommend buying Book Balm over Book Shield if you can only buy one--think of Book Balm as the foundation and Book Shield as what you then build on top that will make your books more beautiful and more durable!

But, in a perfect world, buying both is best because the power of polish AND the added water repelent properties of Book Shield. Plus a dozen other things that I could "nerd out" about for the rest of the day!

(User Notes are in the other listings and on the tins, sorry, but I don't have the room to include them in this listing.)

From the Book Balm Listing:

This Book Balm is the culmination of years of research, experimentation, and work. It is the absolute best recipe that I have used on my own books and I have been using it for years now.

The perks of this particular blend are that it moisturizes the leather very well and penetrates well thanks to the linseed oil. The lanolin then works to lock that moisture in over the long term, which is exactly what we need for our books! Oh, and the recipe is on the tin, if you want to make more once you've ordered! Or you can keep buying from me and support the channel this way!

I work with pure oils with no additives (this reduces the risk to your books). I use this blend on my own books, so that's the best seal of approval that I can offer!

NOTE: Books don't need to be oiled every day. Some don't need it every year--although a lot of people do like to oil their books annually. You have to use your best judgment when oiling.

From the Book Shield Listing:

This Book Shield is a sister to my main oil, Book Balm. While Book Balm is intended to be a balm to books that haven't been properly oiled in ages and are dried to a crisp, this oil, Book Shield, is meant for books that have been properly cared for and just need a little shield to protect them against the future! It is a protective polish that helps carry them forward for decades more.

While Book Balm revitalizes old leather, Book Shield is meant to protect that leather!

Before I go on, let me just say that you should get Book Balm instead of Book Shield if you've got a dry and cracked book. Click on over to that now if you know your book is super dry.

However, if you want to protect your book more and give it a shine, that's where Book Shield comes into the picture!

Book Shield contains beeswax (almost half of the blend is beeswax) and which allows you to buff the leather of your book, giving it a beautiful shine and making it look years younger! The beeswax is accompanied by lanolin and linseed oil to provide some moisturizing and to increase the workability of the overall blend, too. The essential oils I use also work together to shield your books from the dangers brought about by time, granting some mold and bug resistance to your covers, which can be a lifesaver! Working together, beeswax and lanolin lock in moisture for years to come, which is fantastic for those of us with ancient tomes and antique leather-clad best friends made of paper! And, as with my Book Balm, the recipe is on the tin, this means you can make more oil as needed, or you can keep buying from me and support the channel that way too!
